Now That We Own It, How To Insure It?
INSURANCE---HOMEOWNERS---AUTOMOBILE---UMBRELLA---FARMOWNERS
BOAT---PERSONAL OR BUSINESS
As an independent insurance agency for almost 50 years, we
know how important our clients are. We work on our clients
behalf by representing several quality insurance companies.
Since we are not employees of the insurance company, we can shop
around to give our clients the right protection, with the right
company, at the right cost.
Your home represents a major investment with considerable
time, effort and money spent in the careful process of choosing
and purchasing this important asset. When you put so much into
an investment, it makes sense to take precautions to adequately
protect it. Your homeowners insurance policy is a contract that
protects you against specific types of losses. It explains both
your rights and responsibilities and those of your insurance
company. It describes the different coverages you may purchase
to increase protection, the amount of insurance you have
purchased (called limits) and the conditions and exclusions that
apply to coverages (under what circumstances there is or is not
coverage)
Compare different homeowners insurance policies and prices
carefully. The best price may not always mean the best coverage.
When you’re trying to protect a major investment, don’t give
up important coverage for a matter of a few dollars.
The basic homeowners coverages are listed below:
Dwelling:
Your home and any structures attached.
Other Structures: Structures on your property set apart from
the dwelling by a clear space.
Personal Property: Personal Property (contents) owned or used
by you anywhere in the world.
Loss of Use: After a covered loss and you can’t live in
your home, this covers the additional living expenses incurred
until the dwelling is repaired.
Personal Liability: You are protected against a claim or
lawsuit by another person for damages due to bodily injury or
property damage.
Medical Payments: To pay for the necessary medical expenses
resulting from accidental injury to others.
Replacement Cost Protection: Optional coverage to provide
guaranteed replacement of the dwelling.
