Millerton's International Appeal:

Dutchess County Tourism (DCT) is repeating their popular “Get Away for a day in the Country” with Metro North Rail Road,
EVERY WEEKEND IN SEPTEMBER (both Saturdays and Sundays).

Folks from the New York City area will hop on a train to Wassaic where a DCT Bus will whisk them off to the

Harney Tea Shop, arriving about 10:30 AM.  They’ll have 2 ˝ hours of SHOPPING AND LUNCHING in Millerton, and departing about 1 PM).

Here is a  news flash from Dutchess Tourism about a special guest “doing” the Farm Fresh Tours this weekend.

A reporter for the largest national Chinese daily newspaper in the U.S. will be along on the tours this weekend.  Her name is Susie and she’s doing a story on Farm Fresh and the one-day getaways.  Founded in 1976, World Journal is the largest Chinese newspaper in North America. One of the few U.S. daily newspapers distributed on a national basis, World Journal is published by independent operations in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Texas, Vancouver and Toronto.

The World Journal is dedicated to providing its readers with the fastest most reliable news coverage. It has recognized the rapid growth and changing demographic profile of Chinese immigrants and responded to their changing needs through continuous advancements in content, technology and service. Its team of professionally trained reporters and editors produce several local editions to address local issues and events while maintaining the scope and depth of its coverage.

The newspaper publishes between 64 and 128 pages daily, depending on the edition, 365 days a year. Coverage of the World Journal highlights important international, U.S. and Canada, economic, and political news with special emphasis on news from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia and local Chinese communities. The World Journal also features sports, entertainment, finance, literature, forum, children's world, home, technology, health and medicine and consumer and business news.

World Journal has received numerous awards for its service to the community as well as acknowledgements from leaders including United States President George W. Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien for its key role in helping new immigrants to assimilate.    World Journal's mission is to serve all overseas Chinese by helping immigrants bridge the gap to mainstream America, keep in touch with their homeland and local Chinese community news, and improve their quality of life. Can I Sell My House NOW---

Without Loosing My Shirt?

Or maybe even the rest of your clothes........

Contact a Realtor or a local Appraiser to have them compare your home with those that have sold recently and those homes similar to yours on the market now. We'll tell you what you need to know; not necessarily what you may want to hear.  We won't buy your listing with a high price, we'll price your listing to sell in a fair amount of time at the highest price possible.  Let us show you how that's done...

This year I promised myself to spend more time in the garden. So far, not so good. The truth is I promised myself to grow enough plants to be able it to be called a garden.  I love climbing plants of all kinds and colors; but I am not a fan of trellises as they almost always seem to topple over.  A Pergola is the answer and provides a shady place to sit too.  All About Pergolas

...Straight From the Horses Mouth.........What does the phrase mean "I got it straight from the horses mouth?” It means you have privileged, 'inside' information. It derives, I think, from racing, in which one might get the likely winner 'from the horse's mouth'  Or from the fact that a horse's age can be deduced by looking at its teeth (which is why it's bad manners to "look a gift horse in the mouth"). If somebody tells you the horse's age, well, maybe it's true and maybe it's not. But the answer you get from the horse's mouth is reliable.

So, The news you will see here will be what I consider to be "inside, reliable information"  It won't always come from the same horse source. The information won't usually be coming from this Horse's (Marti Steed) Mouth; but from those whom I respect and feel are telling the plain truth with an educated point of view.

Alexander (Sandy) Treadwell is Running for Congress in the 20th Congressional District of New York.  http://www.sandytreadwell.com/Default.aspx   Republican primary congressional candidate Alexander "Sandy" Treadwell has distanced himself from President Bush by criticizing the administration's energy policy.......In a recent interview, he also laid blame on Capitol Hill, saying Congress for decades, under both Republican and now Democratic control, failed to set a long-range energy policy.   Ron and I have known Sandy for 12 years.  We believe his message and respect his commitment.  What Sandy says is directly from "The Horse's Mouth!" Here is why he is running for Congress...... Dear Friends.............
